Coming from the "wrong side of the tracks," the lead character of this story is at a university on an athletic scholarship. He goes with his gay friend to a party of the most affluent students, held in a magnificent beach house, which is empty except for the owner's collection of art objects. Late in the day, a gang of boys rape Nancy, one of their own who has acquired a reputation as an easy lay. The lead character steps back from the others to contemplate the nexus of sex and violence as he watches the rape of Nancy trigger an orgy of destruction and reckless sex.
