| BRING ME THE HEAD OF RONA BARRETT |
Hargraves, 1980.
A short story about a group of university researchers who cruise up the Maroni River between Surinam and French Guiana to encounter a pantheistic priest (witchdoctor) suspected of killing a CIA agent and shipping his head back to Washington, DC. The group is amazed to find that the village has television and the witchdoctor's favorite program is "Good Morning, America," as he has fallen in love with the image of Rona Barrett. He treats the group to a hologram of the show, leaving them baffled as to how he managed to create this walk-through hologram: by hypnosis or a psychic means unknown them.
